Ship Loading Systems

Ship Loading Systems are also used with Ship Unloading Systems. Sometimes they are simply called as ship loaders. Ship loaders have specially designed loading spouts that reduce dust and spillage to a minimum. The design is compact and lightweight, and capacities have so far reached up to 3,000 tph for ships up to post-panamax size.

Typical Principle of Operations

The vessel is loaded from the involved tanks by the pumps of the tank farm via a calibrated and temperature-compensated measuring system. The measured values are logged automatically through loading computers and manually through tape printers. The loading quantity is pre-selected and loading stops automatically. The hydrocarbon vapours developing during the loading operation can be returned to a vapour recovery system involving the tanks.
