Magnetic Pulleys

Magnetic Pulleys are designed to remove both large and small ferrous tramp iron contaminant’s from product streams in belt conveyor systems. magnetic pulley separators provide a continuous, 24/7 automatic removal of tramp iron from the material's flow.

Magnetic pulley separators are typically used as head pulleys in belt conveyors. As tramp metal nears the separator's magnetic field, it is attracted and held to the conveyor's belt until it reaches the conveyor's underside, where it passes out of the magnetic field and discharges into a chute or bin. The cleaned, contaminant free material discharges from the top of the conveyor, away from the tramp iron.

Principles of Operation

The circular rotating magnet firmly holds the tramp iron contained in the bulk material on the conveyor belt and transports it from the magnetic field behind the belt drum, where it falls off. Higher belt speed levels improve the efficiency of the separation. The axial pole design facilitates easy post-cleaning and ensures a constant field over the entire working width, while the radial pole system yields a particularly high iron recovery rate.

Applications

The magnetic pulleys are commonly used in Slag, minerals, scrap wood, glass, electronic scrap (WEEE), foundry sand, shredder material, municipal waste.
