Rubber Compensators

Rubber Compensators are used to eliminate vibrations and noise as well as to compensate for misalignments and length deviations when rubber hose or rubber reducers are not used, e.g. between the sump and pump.

Typically rubber compensators used for flexibility when the pump flange calls for rubber lined steel reducer and the space from the sump is too short to fit a piece of hose. These are made from various elastomers reinforced with high tensile textile cords to provide the flexible elements in pipe work that are indispensable in today's technically advanced plant and machinery installations.

Rubber compensators are used to check temperature variations, setting in foundations, vibrations, forces and deformations cause noise, movement and/or stress in pipeline systems and neutralize the negative effects of these factors for pipeline systems that are exposed to chemicals and/or high pressures. These are elastic pipe joint couplings.

Design

The surface of the rubber compensators is smooth on the in and outside incorporating two fold high strength plies of fabric. The outer rubber, made of Neoprene, is weather resistant and protects the inner pressure bearer from ageing, wear and corrosion. The inner rubber is made of nitrile rubber. The compensators have rubber reinforcements vulcanised on both sides. These reinforcements have two lips and an inclined ridge for better sealing. Further sealings are not necessary.

Areas of use

Typically used for flexibility when pump flange calls for rubber lined steel reducer and spacing from sump is too short to fit a piece of hose.
