Sand Washing Units

Sand Washing Units have been designed to obtain sand meeting the requirements of the industry, such as grainsize, finess, modulus, cleanliness, friability, content of non wished elements (organic material, chloride, sulphate, etc). These units are used to treat sand for use in concrete, as well as other industrial sands, bentonite slurry and other minerals.

The use of sand washing machines equipped with hydrocyclones is the best way to acheive good wash sand. This method works bythe elimination of the fraction below the 63 µm grain size (230 mesh). Its performance is much higher than carried out by other machines, such as water wheels or washing screws. The result is a quality sand, even with a high content of fine material, due to a higher friction among the particles.

Components

The components of each unit, i.e. pumps, motors, dewaters, hydrocyclones, etc, will be selected in accordance with the job specifications. The wide variety of available combinations allows us to design a broad range of practically tailor-made machines to be manufactured for each client, letting him optimizing the investment for the production facility.

Depending on the percentage of material to be removed and the desired quality of the desired final product, multiple washing stages may be necessary. In this multiple stage cyclone process, the material obtained in the vortex of the first hydrocyclone goes to the tank of the next until the sand washing is achieved.
