The Heatless Dryers are of naturally compressed desiccant air type. A Heatless compressed air dryer is the simplest form of dessicant type gas or air dryer for achieving a dew point of -40°C or better for compressed air systems and other gas and air dryer applications.

Function
Wet incoming Compressed air after passing through pre filter passes through the slide piston valve assembly and is directed towards adsorber chamber where the compressed air passes upward through the desiccant. Compressed Air Dryers takes place by adsorption. Dry Compressed air from adsorber chamber I then passes through the Check valve assembly and then through the after- filter to the application or work area.While Compressed air is being drying in chamber I the dessiccant in chamber II where the desiccant has been wetted in the previous cycle is being simultaneously regenerated. The chamber II is depressurized to atmosphere through the purge valve in the downward direction. A portion of the dry compressed air passes through the needle valve / orifice plate through the desiccant and flushes out the desorbed moisture.When the regeneration is complete, the purge valve is closed and the tower is slowly repressurised to line pressure for a smooth changeover. A drying period of 5 minutes provides an efficient dew point of -40°C or better (at atmospheric pressure ). In regeneration process approximately 30 seconds are required for repressurisation. The presence of oil, moisture and dust particles in compressed air is a well known fact for industrial applications. As the technology advanced with inducation of sophisticated modern machineries working on compressed air, the usage of recommended quality class of air as per machines manufacturer or international Standard Organisation (ISO) or Pneurope recommendation has become necessary. The usage of filtered, dry air as per above recommendations results in reduced wear and tear, increased machine uptime, lower rejections, better product quality and above all considerable saving in energy.

Salient Features
* Operating on ADSORP principle; Hence prevents entrainment of moisture in the pipe line however long is may be.
* The most compact skid mounted unit supplied in READY FOR USE state by connecting compressed air at inlet and outlet.
* The stationary working system and requires negligible maintenance.
* Assured atmospheric dew point equal to (-) 40 deg. C. or (-) 70 deg C as required.

The Gas Dryers work by tumbling the clothing and blowing air through the drum. The drum has baffles protruding into the drum to keep the clothes from bunching up. The length of time the dryer runs and the air temperature are elements of the various drying cycles.

A motor turns the clothes drum and also turns a fan (called the blower). The air flow from the blower passes over a heating element (in an electric dryer) or through a gas jet (in a gas dryer). The air then passes through the drum and out the back of the dryer through ducts to the vent which is typically located outdoors.

The Gas Dryers use a burner assembly which is comprised of a control valve with 1 or 2 solenoids (also called coils), a gas jet, an igniter and a sensor. When the dryer is started, the igniter heats up, when the sensor detects the heat, it signals the solenoid on the control valve to open and release the gas which is then lit by the glowing hot igniter. The igniter turns off but the gas jet remains open. The burning jet of gas keeps the sensor warm which keeps the gas valve open, until the thermostat signals the control valve to stop the flow of gas.

The dryer cannot operate until the door switch signals that the door is closed. The start button must then be pressed to enable the timer control. The timer control either regulates the length of time the dryer runs or it works in conjunction with a moisture sensor that measures the water vapor in the drum to determine when the clothes have dried.

The temperature selector controls the maximum temperature inside the drum with the aid of thermostats. The heat turns on and off as needed to maintain the temperature.

When the timed cycle ends, or the moisture sensor determines the clothes are dry, the drying cycle ends and typically a buzzer sounds to signal that the cycle has ended.

Some dryers have a wrinkle prevention feature that will tumble the dryer every few minutes to prevent wrinkles from setting in.

The Freeze Dryers are mainly used for freeze dying process. The freeze dying process is widely used in recent times. Freeze-drying or commonly known as Lyophilization (executed by Lyophilizers) is a gentle, but technically complex drying process during which moisture is extracted from the frozen goods under vacuum conditions. So, many liquid active pharmaceutical ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry are quickly deep-frozen at temperatures of -70 to -100°C. Then, the frozen material is dried in a vacuum chamber. The ice evaporates at under pressure without becoming liquid - it sublimates. The water vapor is then extracted at increased vacuum and higher temperatures. For some types, the encapsulation of the glass bottles containing the ingredient is carried out under clean room conditions. Of all types of drying, freeze-drying leads to the least product changes and losses of ingredients. The Freeze Dryers operate in 3 steps: freezing, main drying, final drying. As from the second step, a vacuum pump is connected to the drying chamber to initiate the sublimation. Here, extreme parameters are reached. The vacuum sensor must withstand 5 x 10-3 mbar. This means no external particles must enter into the drying chamber, as they would contaminate the product.

Why Freeze Dryers are required?
Until now most of the freeze dryers are of the Tray Dryer type. Despite the optimal structure of the individual product particles the product layer on the plates will usually form one piece of hard baked material. Often the product has to be crushed after freeze drying, which may lead to damage of the product structure. Another disadvantage is the relatively low heat transfer rate due to the dead state of the material on the plates. Also the handling of the product is quite labor intensive because the trays have to be filled and discharged manually. In this context active freezing came into existent. For this active freezing process a special kind of dryers were emerged named Freeze Dryers.

Advantages
* Freeze Dryer enables to produce at low temperature and low pressure a lump-free, free-flowing, freeze dried product.
* The Freeze Dryer also has a better heat transfer rate due to the continuous mixing of the product, resulting in shortening the drying process.
* The freezing dryer follows such a freezing step that is simplified because it can be done in the same vessel instead of having a separate freezing unit, which results in easy handling of the product compared to it's predecessor tray dryer equipment.
* The Freeze Dryer can also be used in continuous operation.
* Since the dried product is released from the frozen material during the drying process, these dry particles can be collected separate from the actual dryer.

Typical Applications
* Temperature  sensitive materials
* Delicate  structured materials
* Pro-biotics (bacteria as food additives)
* Pharmaceuticals
* Blood serum
* Ultra-fine (nano) materials

The Fluidized Bed Dryers are known for single stage operation and extensively used to convert solutions, suspensions, and slurries into dry powder within a few seconds without any intermediate handling. The high speed of the process and controlled temperature ensure the optimum efficiency of the process.

Features
* Easy to install
* High functionality
* Optimum performance
* Smooth operation

Applications
The Fluidized Bed Dryers or Fluid Bed Dryers (FBD) are primarily used in almost all chemical, pharmaceutical, food, dyestuff and other process industries to dry materials by fluidization with hot and / or dehumidified air, which creates a turbulence in the wet product (not totally liquid) while flowing through it.

Working Principle
The atmospheric air is sucked in the dryer through 5/10 micron filter by efficient dynamically balanced fan driven by an electric motor. The clean air then passes over the electric heaters / steam or radiator provided with controller. The hot air passes through the product and fluidization dries the product. Dryer is provided with dehumidifier (Chilled water system) at the inlet so as to dry the product at low temperature under fluidized condition. The blower speed is controlled by AC frequency drive so as to control the fluidization avoiding choking of the filter bag. A raking system is provided to avoid lump formation in the container to achieve uniform fluidization and uniform drying.

The drying time depends on various factors such as physical properties of material, moisture content, type of moisture (free or inherent or water of crystallization), drying temperature etc. For example, the crystalline product can be dried faster than amorphous product containing same percentage of moisture at same temperature.

Salient Features
* Machine and the trolley are scientifically constructed. The lifting jack is housed in the inlet lower chamber (part of the main shell). It is of Stainless Steel and is lined with neoprene grade rubber of suitable hardness for sealing with the product container.
* The lifting jack is fitted with a pneumatic lifting device, which consists of 2 numbers pneumatic cylinders along with control valves, pressure regulating device and air filter. Air pressure requirement is 4 kg/cm2.
* The expansion chamber has a guide for positioning the product container.
* The filter bag chamber is made from Stainless Steel sheets. The filter bag can be de-dusted manually or pneumatically.
* The air inside is circulated by the blower. It has an impeller with a backward curve type blade. The impeller is driven by Flame Proof or Non Flame Proof Motor.
* The dryer is Electrical/Steam Heated as desired. Heaters are of finned tubes tested to 6 kg/cm2 pressure.

The Disc Dryers are especially suited for drying pasty products or sludge-like products. These dryers can be constructed in carbon steel as well as stainless steel. Heat transfer by means of steam through a heavy central rotor. This rotor has a special innovative design without intermediate distance bolts.

Characteristics
These Disc Dryers are pure contact dryers, heated by steam. The dryer is pre manufactured in workshop and has a small footprint comparing to convection dryers. The product will be mechanically conveyed through the dryer, which minimizes the demand for electrical energy.

Principle
Inside the dryer the double-walled discs are sitting on a central tube which are heated by steam from the inside. The product is continuously circulated in the rotating disk bundle, and shovels fixed at the circumference transport the product axially through the disc bundle dryers. Scrapers that are fixed between the discs ensure thorough mixing of the product and also prevent product from sticking to the discs. Indirect heating allows a gentle and environmentally friendly drying process.

Typical Applications
The Disc Dryers are reliably operating in the drying of:
* Corn Gluten
* Flesh meal, bone meal, blood meal, fish meal
* Sludges from communal or industrial waste-water
* Various pasty media or sludge
* Food residues

Usages
The Disc Dryers can be used for: sludge, fat, blood, calibrated slaughterhouse offal, etc

Capacity
It's capacity varies in function of the water content and heat transfer characteristics of the product.

In Counterflow Dryers the grain and air flow are in opposite directions. Typically a round bin is used that has a perforated floor and a sweep auger. Heated air is pushed up through the grain while the sweep auger removes grain as the control system indicates the grain has reached the desired moisture. Hot grain is moved to a cooling bin when it is discharged from the dryer. One advantage of this dryer type is that wet grain can be piled on top of the drying grain, eliminating the need for a separate wet holding bin. Fines can affect airflow from the perforated floor so it is recommended that the grain be screened before drying and it is usually necessary to shut down the dryer every 3-4 days to remove fines from the floor to maintain proper air flow. These are one of the more efficient continuous flow type dryers being about 40% more efficient than a cross-flow dryer with out heat recovery. This type of dryer can be retrofitted to an existing bin, reducing the initial dryer cost and can be used to store grain by drying the last grain operating the dryer in a re-circulating batch dryer mode.

Advantages
The Counterflow Dryers have the following advantages:
Energy Efficiency
The Counterflow Dryers stand out because of their superior energy efficiency when compared to any alternative dryer. Compared to the best horizontal dryers, it can guarantee an energy consumption that is typically at least 15% lower. When replacing older horizontal dryers, savings on energy can be up to 50%.

Mechanical Reliability
The use of gravity flow allows to engineer Dryers and coolers with a minimum of moving parts and without any wear parts. Moreover, lack of maintenance that is required for a counterflow cooler. The Counterflow Dryers are no different.

Moisture Uniformity
Moisture uniformity and control play an important role in the profitability of the any dryer operator. The Counterflow Dryers can achieve the same moisture uniformity as the best horizontal dryers. Improvements over older dryers lead to high savings in product and energy costs.

Sanitation Standards
The use of gravity for product transport ensures an uninterrupted product flow, leading to a large reduction in cleaning frequency and cleaning costs, whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of sanitation.

The Conical Screw Dryers are used for drying powders, granules and removing solvent from the product.

Description
The conical screw dryer is a vacuum contact dryer that is particularly suitable for drying hazardous and toxic products containing solvents or water, to a very low final moisture content, due to its closed design and indirect product heating.As a result of its unique, very gentle mixing characteristics, even mechanically sensitive products are not destroyed; the product quality after the drying process is reproducible and as good as that of the initial product, whereas the driving force required is very low. The achievable, high vacuum ensures low drying temperatures (a clear advantage when drying temperature-sensitive products), good heat transfer and short drying times, while at the same time requiring little energy. The short drying times and the high level of the fully closed system make the conical dryer the best choice in cases in which environmental and/or product requirements are strict. A directly fitted filter retains the dust particles in the processing space. Complete discharge and easy output ensure that you can continue to process your valuable products without a loss. Not just the solids, but also humidity and solvents can be recycled by the vacuum unit that has been integrated into the closed containment system.

Characteristics
* A conical container with a domed roof, an external drive unit and an internal mixing screw, guided by an orbital swivel arm. The head room is used to expand the vapours and to settle the dust.
* The drying heat is supplied via the conical heating system (as well as via the heated screw), the cover and the dust filter, which are temperature-controlled to prevent condensation or the formation of lumps.
* Complete closed, welded, robust stainless steel insulation jacket with various insulation materials in a stress-free design.
* A self-supporting mixing screw without floor attachment, with unimpeded, free, central product discharge for optimisation of residue-free discharge with an homogeneous and controllable product flow.
* The form and design of the screw allows for individual adaptation to the process / product
* A conically expanded mixing screw to optimize mixing, minimizing the mixing force and ensuring gentle mechanical treatment of the products to maintain excellent product quality.
* The short distance of the mixing screw from the wall and the reduction of dead space; when combined with optimised speeds, this ensures the best possible heat transfer with the shortest drying times and minimal wall deposits.
* Available in a special sanitary, GMP-compatible version with automated CIP
* Various static and dynamic process seals, adapted to the process, product and designed for optimal reliability. Shaft-sealing systems ranging from a PTFE rotary shaft seal to a complex, monitored floating ring seal in cartridge or modular form.
* Speed-adjustable drives for flexible adaptation to individual applications
* Modular drive system, exchangeability of various equivalent systems.
* Spherical segment valve as a closed output and input valve with an inflatable sanitary seal that is easy to clean. No dead space, with CIP nozzle

Advantages
The conical screw dryer includes all the advantages mentioned for the conical screw mixer, without limitations:
* Self-supporting screw
* Gentle mixing process
* Low mechanical shear forces
* High mixing accuracy and good mixing quality
* Universally suitable for almost all industrial products
* Flexibility during partial filling without adverse effect on product quality
* Complete discharge of solids and cleaning fluids
* Easy to clean
* Completely closed processing space
* and, of course, the robust and reliable design and high quality of production, project management and documentation.

The Conical Dryers combine an unusual design with a unique material of construction into a unit that uses heat, vacuum, and a gentle tumbling action to dry and blend even the strongest corrosives. The double inverted cone vacuum dryer design ensures a thorough mix and a homogeneous product so that drying is both controlled and fast.

Operational Mechanism
Once the product is fed into the manhole to the desired capacity, clamps seal the cover and rotation begins. As the CDB revolves, the top layer of the product rolls down toward the opposite cone and is followed by the entire mass. The conical walls deflect the product toward the center producing a constantly changing cross section of material that blends as it dries. The jacket surrounding the vessel contains a heating medium that is circulated by means of a rotary joint or through the center of the support shaft. A vacuum tube removes vapors formed by the heated jacket.

Advantages
* Anti-corrosion, when the dry solution is not chemically neutral.
* Fire polished and non-sticking, greatly reducing of eliminating the tendency of solids to stick to vessel wall.
* Zero-contamination for products that require a 100% metal-free contact.
* Easy cleaning for API.
* Functional design.
* Simple operation.
* Problem-free cleaning.
* Low operating costs.
* Wide range of options

Options
* Adjustable lump breakers (choppers) for materials that tend to become lumpy.
* Insulation and special coating.Heated cover to prevent condensation.
* "Clean room" version with minimized dead zones and remote control for filling, emptying and cleaning functions.
* Stainless steel design available.

The Centrifugal Dryers are basically a spin dryer. They are typically used when parts are being processed in bulk. The parts may be placed into an appropriate size basket that then is inserted into the dryer. The dryer is then closed, turned on and spins the basket at a very high speed to force any liquid, oil, etc. to leave the part. Along with the spinning action drying the parts, an optional heater can be installed to offer adequate time in drying the samples.<br />
The Cascading Rotary Dryers have the feed materials pass through a rotating cylinder together with a stream of hot gas. Internal lifters or flights elevate the feed and drop it in a curtain from the top to the bottom cascading along the length of the dryer. Flights need to be carefully designed to prevent asymmetry of the curtain. Material moves from one end of the dryer to the other by the motion of the material falling due to the angle of inclination of the drum. Some rotary dryers are double and triple pass units where each drum is nested inside the previous drum.<br />

Granular free flowing wet feed material is made to shower repeatedly in a cascade manner in a stream of hot air, when moisture gets transferred to the air, rendering the product progressively dry as it travels the length of the dryer cylinder provided with suitable lifters. The humid air is exhausted via a dust collection system to trap any fines escaping with the exhaust air.

The Carousel Dryers were popular in the late 80’s and 90’s but thousands are still in use. They are based on desiccant bead technology but instead of the beads being contained in dual stationary beds, the beads are contained in three tanks mounted on a rotating turntable. These dryers have the same high-energy usage disadvantages as dual bed dryers. They have even higher maintenance requirements because of the multitude of moving parts and seal failure.
6 sleeves can be dried at the same time now with the Carousel Dryers. The hot-air drying system, in combination with the rotation of the sleeves, guarantees an excellent equal drying. The door for entering and removing te sleeves is kept small, which prevents the loss of hot air. The control panel has 6 timers and indicators. When a sleeve is ready, the corresponding timer indicator lights up. After selecting the number, the right station will stop behind the door.

The Brazing Furnaces ensure consistent brazing results by offering superior temperature and atmosphere control.

Furnace brazing is a metal-joining process whereby a filler metal or alloy is heated to melting temperature above 450 °C (840 °F) and distributed between two or more close-fitting parts by capillary action. The filler metal is brought slightly above its melting (liquidus) temperature while protected by a suitable atmosphere or brazing flux. When the part reaches the liquidus temperature of the filler metal, the filler metal wets a thin layer of the base metal.
As the temperature of the part being brazed is lowered to below the liquidus temperature of the braze alloy, the part being brazed is cooled rapidly to form a brazed joint. By design, the melting temperature of the braze alloy is lower than the melting temperature of the materials being joined. Furnace brazed joints are generally stronger than the individual filler metals used due to the geometry of the joint as well as to the metallurgical bonding that occurs.

Advantages
There are varied reasons which makes furnace brazing preferable over other brazing methods.
* Furnace brazing is highly repeatable and capable of high quality
* Furnace brazing is a semi-automatic process used due to its adaptability to mass production
* Furnace brazing process relies on the use of semi skilled labor is practical and cost effective
* Furnace brazing 's main advantage is the ease with which it can produce large numbers of parts per hour
* Furnace brazed parts are uniformly heated under tight process control
* Furnace brazing offers simultaneous joining of multiple braze joints is usual
* Components to be furnace brazed can be designed for self alignment without the need for fixturing.
* Furnace brazing allows for Braze Filler Metal [BFM] to be preplaced in contact with the braze joints
* Furnace brazing has a controlled heat cycle minimizes or eliminates distortion.
* Furnace brazing eliminates the need for post braze cleaning operations

The Vacuum Dryers are used where materials to be dried are heat sensitive or liable to oxidation. Solvents can readily be recovered by means of a simple condenser system. Toxic materials can be processed without operator contact. These dryers can be supplied complete with heating system, vacuum pump, solvent condensor and service piping.
There are several kinds of Vacuum Dryers available. These are:

* Vacuum Shelf Dryers
* Agitated Pan Dryers
* Double Cone Dryers
* Vacuum Band Dryers

Vacuum Shelf Dryers
This is the simplest type of unit with the wet material carried on trays which are placed onto heating platens within the vacuum chamber. High efficiency heating platens in direct contact with the total tray surface ensure maximum heat transfer and even drying. Circular or rectangular units can be supplied and these are ideal for small to moderate levels of production. Sizes range from 1.25m² up to 19m² tray area.

Agitated Pan Dryers
This is the most versatile of the vacuum dryers capable of taking feed materials in either liquid, paste or powder form. The cylindrical vessel is jacketed for steam, hot water or oil and is fitted with an internal agitator to facilitate drying and discharge of the dry powder. These units can be used atmospherically as well as under vacuum and are available with a feed capacity from 75 to 2135 litres.

Double Cone Dryers
The material to be dried is tumbled in a slow rotating vessel of double cone construction which is jacketed for steam, hot water or oil heating. As the dryer rotates the rapid and thorough intermixing of the entire batch brings every particle in contact with the heated metal. These dryers are suitable for damp powders or granules handling batch charges from 28 to 10,500 litres.

The Horizontal Band Dryers are specially constructed to meet drying demands of different seeds and organic products (Grass and vegetable seeds, wood chips and saw dust etc).
An air stream, optimally adjusted in temperature and volume to suit the actual product, is passing through a slowly moving steel belt, manufactured from perforated steel lamellas.
Both the height of product layer and the belt speed are adjustable, enabling a perfect saturation of the exhaust air according to different drying processes and products.
Horizontal band dryers are built in a modular system where the sections are arranged in a single row or in two or more layers, improving the mix of the product and uniformity of the final moist content.
As well as the continuous flow dryer, horizontal dryers can be heated in different ways by different fuels, direct or indirect.
The last sections mostly are used for final cooling of the product to ensure safe storage conditions.
Alternatively the same machine can be used as cooler for feed pellets etc, using ambient air instead of heated air.

The Ball Dryers are a unique product designed to leave your clothes soft and static free as well as make the process of doing laundry more economical. Ball Dryers are relatively large rubber balls about 3 inches (7.6 cm)in diameter that have rubber spikes on the surface. When placed in the dryer among the wet laundry the Ball Dryers help to lift and separate the clothes reducing static and drying time as well as leaving the clothes soft and fluffy. Technically the Ball Dryers work by improving the circulation of heat and air through the wet items.
Ideally, the Ball Dryers eliminate the need for dryer sheets by doing the work naturally rather than chemically. Replacing dryer sheets with dryer balls will save money since the Ball Dryers are reusable.
Using Ball Dryers instead of chemically treated dryer sheets is also healthier for you as well as the environment because you are able to avoid the risks of chemical residues left on clothing and released into the air. The Ball Dryers are non toxic and hypoallergenic, a definite advantage for people and babies with sensitive skin.
Ball Dryers are also economical because they reduce drying time by up to 40%. As a result, the cost of your electrical bills and energy consumption will decrease. A reduced drying time is far more convenient for those with busy lifestyles as well.
Ball Dryers, though better for the environment and your wallet, do have one negative aspect. Because of their size and weight, when placed in a running dryer they are noisy. This may be a problem for people who have a dryer in their home in close proximity to their living area. For those who dry their clothes at a laundromat or have a separate laundry area in the home, the benefits of the dryer balls will probably far out away the potentially irritating thumping noise made by the Ball Dryers.
The actual effectiveness of Ball Dryers is disputed among users. Many people have found that the Ball Dryers meet all their expectations while others think that static electricity is increased and that drying time stays the same. These discrepancies concerning the effectiveness of Ball Dryers can probably be explained by the quality and efficiency of the appliance that they are used in.

The Auto Dryers are used for removing surface water from fresh-cut produce while enabling continuous line flow. Available in one-, two-, and four-drum models, the new Auto Dryer is engineered to achieve the smoothest operation with new controls, a new motor, and a new structure that improves the dynamic operating condition of the dryer. This automatic dryer removes moisture from fresh-cut produce gently and consistently to enhance product quality and extend shelf life.
Compared to traditional batch dryers that require manual loading and unloading, the Auto Dryer achieves fully automated, uninterrupted loading and unloading. Compared to batch drying, the Auto Dryer doubles throughput in half the floor space while reducing labor, improving worker safety, and enhancing sanitation.
Auto Dryer handles from 1100 to 3000 lb (500 to 1360 kg) of product per hour per drum, depending on the product. Thus, the four-drum model handles up to 4,400 lb (2000 kg) per hour when drying lightweight products and up to 12,000 lb (5443 kg) per hour when handling heavier products.
The Auto Dryer effectively dries a wide variety of fresh-cut produce including baby leaf and cut leaf lettuce, cabbage, spinach, and cut vegetables such as carrots, onions, and peppers, as well as whole green beans, herbs, and more. Product settings, which control spin speed, cycle time, and fill level, can be stored in the Auto Dryer’s PLC and easily recalled via the color touchscreen control panel. This fast and easy changeover routine assures each product is handled optimally so final moisture specifications are met.
The Auto Dryer reduces product damage and maximizes drying efficiency by loading a constant, even flow of product into dryer drums via a patented spiral layering method that eliminates the slug of product seen on other dryers. With its consistent centrifugal pressure, this unique spiral layering achieves more uniform drying while minimizing wear on mechanical parts. The result is reduced maintenance and longer equipment life than other dryer designs.
The Auto Dryers improve sanitation and ease maintenance. The new hood system helps contain water while enabling easy access to the drum for cleaning. The stainless steel dryer is designed using the latest food safety standards to eliminate cracks and crevices that can harbor bacteria. The new, state-of-the-art control system monitors the condition of the drum and automatically adjusts the spin speed if an out-of-balance condition is detected, which reduces wear. Using a direct drive system, the Auto Dryer minimizes maintenance.
The Auto Dryer can be connected to the plant-wide network and programmed to control the entire production line, making decisions for the upstream wash system and/or downstream packaging to maximize the efficiency of the line and create true continuous line flow.

The Automated Batch Dryers follows a certain working principle, which is commonly known as Automated Batch Drying System. The Automated Batch Drying System combines highly efficient fluidised bed drying with ‘single batch containment’ advantages. This system is especially used for combined coating/ drying of pelleted product. If pelleting time for example is 15-20 minutes, an accumulated 4 batches can be dried in about 60-80 minutes. Systems of 60 – 600 ltr. per batch are available. This results in fully automated coating/ drying systems with a capacity of 120 – 1800 ltr per hour coating/ drying capacity. Another huge advantage of the design is that real-time weighing can take place during the drying in order to have absolute and continuous moisture control independent of often inaccurate in line/real time humidity control. The dryer empties out 100% because it rotates 180 degrees so there is no cross contamination between batches! Normally vibrating fluidised bed systems are, when compact, extremely costly or when simply built (reciprocating drive) extremely long. The e&e Automated Batch Drying System is extremely compact, efficient and moderate in cost.

Characteristics
* Specially for encrusted and pelleted seed
* Rapid drying because of the fluidized bed principle
* Automated discontinuous system, traceability / containment guaranteed
* Real time humidity control
* Compact design

The Active Freeze Dryers are mainly used for freeze dying process.

Why Active Freeze Dryers are required?
Until now most of the freeze dryers are of the Tray Dryer type. Despite the optimal structure of the individual product particles the product layer on the plates will usually form one piece of hard baked material. Often the product has to be crushed after freeze drying, which may lead to damage of the product structure. Another disadvantage is the relatively low heat transfer rate due to the dead state of the material on the plates. Also the handling of the product is quite labor intensive because the trays have to be filled and discharged manually. In this context active freezing came into existent. For this active freezing process a special kind of dryers were emerged named Active Freeze Dryers.

Advantages
* Active Freeze Dryer enables to produce at low temperature and low pressure a lump-free, free-flowing, freeze dried product.
* The Active Freeze Dryer also has a better heat transfer rate due to the continuous mixing of the product, resulting in shortening the drying process.
* Active freezing dryer follows such a freezing step that is simplified because it can be done in the same vessel instead of having a separate freezing unit, which results in easy handling of the product compared to it's predecessor tray dryer equipment.
* The Active Freeze Dryer can also be used in continuous operation.
* Since the dried product is released from the frozen material during the drying process, these dry particles can be collected separate from the actual dryer.

Typical Applications
* Temperature  sensitive materials
* Delicate  structured materials
* Pro-biotics (bacteria as food additives)
* Pharmaceuticals
* Blood serum
* Ultra-fine (nano) materials

The Dispersion Dryers are used for drying applications of wet cakes, pastes, sludges and production of powders from aqueous suspension. Due to the dewatering mechanism, these dryers provide effective solutions and converted to either filter cakes, pastes or sludges. These air dispersion dryers are chosen on the basis of wet deed cake particle size distribution of final powder and drying curve. The range of air dispersion dryers generally includes spray dryers, rotary dryers, flash dryers, spin flash dryers, vibrated fluid bed dryers and fluid bed dryer.

Features
* Smooth functionality
* Easy operation
* Durable performance

Spin Flash Dryers
If the wet cake is a paste or sludge, the Spin Flash Dryers are the most suited for drying application. The dryer is fitted with a mechanical agitator which helps to disperse the wet cake without any need for back mixing of the dry powder. the feeding system includes a feed tank with agitator and a screw feeder for feeding into the drying unit. The heart of drying process is cylindrical drying chamber, where the drying air enters the air distributor. The tangential air distributor of special design introduces the air as an intense swirl flow. the simple spin flash dryer is designed to handle materials that can be suspended directly in air. The drying process usually is completed in 0. 5 - 2 sees, and the final moisture is generally in the constant rate drying zone. Various types of spin flash dryers designs are available based on uniform / non uniform particle size of the feed / product. the feeding of cake is through specially designed paddle mixer / screw conveyor with / without rotary injector depending on rheology of feed material. For difficult to handle feed materials part of dried powder can be re-cycled. Spin flash dryers are suited for filter cakes, semi dried powders.

Rotary Dryers
The Rotary Dryers that are classified as direct or indirect (air heating method), current or counter current (material air contact). While using the dryers the material should be dried and uniformly dispersed over the entire cross-section. These dyers can also be customized based on the properties of the material.

Features
* Material is Passage through heated air
* Dryer is driven through a girth gear and tyre arrangement
* Minimum air leakage

* Maize germs
* Coal
* Ore
* Industrial sludge

Fluid Bed Dryers
The Fluid Bed Dryers are known for single stage operation and extensively used to convert solutions, suspensions, and slurries into dry powder within a few seconds without any intermediate handling. The high speed of the process and controlled temperature ensure the optimum efficiency of the process.

Features
* Easy to install
* High functionality
* Optimum performance
* Smooth operation

Spray Dryers
The Spray Dryers offer an effective and efficient method of removal of surface or on bound moisture from a feed product. Spray dryers are pneumatic driers having very low residence time within the equipment, thus flashing off the moisture from the feed. They are used for efficient drying of moist powders. Slurry, filter cakes, granules, etc. They operate on varying throughput rates from few hundred kilograms per hour to hundreds of tons per hour. Low temperature dehumidified air could be used for heat sensitive products to hot gases with temperature up to 500 - 600 deg. C. for temperature resistant products. spray drying equipment comprises of the feeding section normally a screw feeder, rotary valve, vibratory feeder, etc. Which feeds the wet product in a controlled fashion into the throat of the flash drier, where it is mixed with hot air produced by a hot air generator or heat exchanger

Flash Dryers
Vibrating Fluid Bed Dryers
The Vibrating Fluid Bed Dryers are used for fluidization of materials which are difficult to handle in a static fluid bed dryer.

Physical Properties
These materials are often characterized by having one or more of the following physical properties:

* Wide particle size distribution
* Low strength of wet or dry particles
* Stickiness or thermo plasticity of the particles
* Pasty properties of the wet feed

In the vibrated fluid bed dryer, the material is easily transported through the dryer by the combined effect of fluidization and vibration. The fluidization velocity can be judiciously selected, to minimize entertainment of the smaller particles, to avoid gas bubbling m the fluid bed thereby minimizing attrition. The residence time can be adjusted, by varying the bed height, through the overflow weir position. A cooling section can also be provided, by partitioning of the plenum chamber.

Typical products handled:

* Salt
* Milk products (used as a secondary dyer)
* Chemicals
* Tea

Fluid bed dryer is suited for powder, granules with average particle size 50 - 2000 microns. If the feed material is sticky and having wide particle size distribution. Vibro fluid bed dryer is the most suited, where vibration helps the movement of solids and drying.

Operations
* Material is easily transported through the dryer due to fluidization and vibration
* Fluidization velocity can be judiciously selected to minimize entertainment of the smaller :particles
* Minimize entertainment avoid gas bubbling m the fluid bed thereby minimizing attrition.
* Residence time can be adjusted by varying the bed height, through the overflow weir position.
* Provided with cooling section by partitioning of the plenum chamber.

Advantages
* Well suited for constant
* Well suited for failing rate drying
* By preheating the air, the residual moisture can be reduced
* Can fluidized well the solids having a well defined particle size

Laboratory Spray Dryer
The Laboratory Spray Dryers follow some basic principles.

Principle
A peristaltic pump delivers liquid from the sample container to the 2 fluid nozzle mounted on the drying chamber. Compressed air from the inbuilt compressor is also supplied to the nozzle, resulting in atomization of the liquid into a fine spray. Air from the blower is heated by an electrical air heater and blown through the drying chamber. Due to the large surface area, drying is very rapid, resulting in a sharp drop in temperature. The dry powder particles are separated from the air in the cyclone separator and collected in the glass collection bottle. The exhaust air is directed through a flexible ss hose into the atmosphere. A bag filter can be provided for secondary powder collection.

Construction
* The blower, electrical air heater, air compressor and the pump are placed in a stainless steel panel, with free and easy access
* The air entering the panel is filtered through a fine cloth filter
* The chamber and cyclone are of borosilicate glass with clamp fillings, designed for easy assembly and removal
* The peristaltic pump is mounted on the front of the panel with easy accessibility

Operations
The dryer has ease of operations. The inlet air temperature is precisely controlled by the inlet temperature pid controller. The panel includes:

* Inlet temperature controller
* Outlet temperature indicator
* On/off switch and indicator for blower
* On/off switch and indicator for heater
* On/off switch and indicator for air compressor
* On/off switch and indicator for feed pump
* Pump speed control with lcd display
* Compressed air pressure control with lcd display of air pressure.

The high velocity air Impingement Ovens cut processing time in half when baking, toasting, roasting and heat treating a variety of food and industrial products.
The Impingement ovens are ideal for rapid and uniform baking, roasting, toasting, cooking, curing, drying and cooling. They also require less floor space than conventional oven systems.
Impingement processing is ideal for many food applications, as well as the nonwovens and Tobacco industries. For non-wovens, impingement processing offers high drying and finishing efficiency for coated and non-permeable (nano-fiber based) webs. In the tobacco industry, reconstituted tobacco sheet is efficiently dried or toasted with an impingement oven. The technology is best suited for products with a high surface area to volume ratio. The product tends to have a high surface area for heat transfer, and a minimal thickness for heat diffusion and moisture migration.

The Air Impingement Dryers are typically utilised in the coating sections of board machines. The systems are custom designed for your process and can be either gas or steam heated.

Operating Principle
Hot air is made to impinge in a plug flow manner on a moving loosely formed bed of wet feed. Moisture evaporates as the material traverses along the length of the bed and is rendered dry at the discharge end. Humid air is continuously exhausted. The dryer is employed for wet crystals which are very fragile as well for wet performed feeds which are not suitable for the normal belt dryer operation.

Special Features
* Suitable for well aerated beds of preformed, crystalline or granular wet feeds.
* High evaporated efficiencies due to the impingement action in plug flow manner.
* Gentle drying
* Uniform drying
* Material from remains intact
* Low power demand
* Continuous operation
* Shear sensitive materials can be handled.

Applications
* Menthol Crystals
* Yellow Iron Oxide
* Pigment
* Organic Crystals

Modern Air Impingement Technology
The ultramodern hot air impingement dryer is used to dry a water based silicone finish on a spun bonded polyester non woven web that is 210 inches wide. The gas-fired dryer system uses high velocity hot air impingement nozzles mounted beneath the product to apply hot air to the web at a right angle. Hot air impingement breaks through the boundary layer of air that surrounds the moving web and transfers heat to the product to vaporize liquids in the coating or finish. The turbulence created also helps to exhaust vapor from the process, which speeds further drying. Impingement air is exhausted from the dryer through return tubes, which are evenly spaced across the dryer. High velocity hot air impingement is extremely effective in applications where large quantities of water must be removed from a saturated or coated product.
The complete dryer system measures 11.75 feet long by 21 feet wide by 11.8 feet high, including the dryer enclosure, blowers, duct work and structural steel support frames. The dryer enclosure is constructed of aluminized steel with stainless steel trim. Its walls are extensively insulated. Three bolt-on plug doors with handles allow access to the dryer's interior for maintenance, and two pressure gauges display supply plenum air pressure.
The new high velocity hot air impingement dryer also includes a mechanical subsystem that raises the dryer's upper cap 24 inches above its base, allowing complete access to the product web. Motorized screw jacks raise and lower the upper cap, and are operated from the system's central control panel. Dryer halves are gasketed to form a tight seal in the closed position.The dryer includes a complete integrated control package. Built into a NEMA 12 enclosure, the control system includes all necessary electrical and gas controls, as well as operator interface components. A PLC, specifically programmed by the company, controls temperature in each of two heat zones. The dryer system is shipped assembled, pre-wired and pre-piped for easy handling and installation.

The Vibrating Fluid Bed Dryers are used for fluidization of materials which are difficult to handle in a static fluid bed dryer.

Physical Properties
These materials are often characterized by having one or more of the following physical properties:
* Wide particle size distribution

A cooling section can also be provided, by partitioning of the plenum chamber.<br />

Typical products handled:
* Salt
* Milk products (used as a secondary dyer)
* Chemicals
* Tea

Advantages
* Well suited for constant
* Well suited for failing rate drying
* By preheating the air, the residual moisture can be reduced
* Can fluidized well the solids having a well defined particle size

The Fluid Bed Dryers are known for single stage operation and extensively used to convert solutions, suspensions, and slurries into dry powder within a few seconds without any intermediate handling. The high speed of the process and controlled temperature ensure the optimum efficiency of the process.

Features
* Easy to install
* High functionality
* Optimum performance
* Smooth operation

Applications
The Fluid Bed Dryers (FBD) are primarily used in almost all chemical, pharmaceutical, food, dyestuff and other process industries to dry materials by fluidization with hot and / or dehumidified air, which creates a turbulence in the wet product (not totally liquid) while flowing through it.

Compressed Air Dryers are commonly found in a wide range of industrial and commercial facilities. The Air Dryers are used to remove water vapor from compressed air.
The process of air compression concentrates atmospheric contaminants, including water vapor. This raises the dew point of the compressed air relative to free atmospheric air and leads to condensation within pipes as the compressed air cools downstream of the compressor.
Excessive water in compressed air, in either the liquid or vapor phase, can cause a variety of operational problems for users of compressed air. These include freezing of outdoor air lines, corrosion in piping and equipment, malfunctioning of pneumatic process control instruments, fouling of processes and products, and more.
There are various types of compressed air dryers. Their performance characteristics are typically defined by the dew point.

* Regenerative Desiccant Dryers, often called Regens or Twin Tower Dryers
* Refrigerated Dryers
* Deliquescent Dryers
* Membrane Dryers

Water vapor is removed from compressed air to prevent condensation from occurring and to prevent moisture from interfering in sensitive industrial processes.

Characteristics
* A regenerative desiccant dryer typically delivers a dew point of between −40 °F(−40 °C) and −100 °F (−73 °C)
* A refrigerated dryer delivers a dew point not lower than approximately 35 °F (2 °C)
* A deliquescent dryer delivers a dew point suppression that fluctuates with air temperature. Typically this suppression is 20 °F
:below the compressed air temperature.

Refrigerated Dryer
Refrigeration dryers employ two heat exchangers, one for air-to-air and one for air-to-refrigeration. The goal of having two heat exchangers is that the cold outgoing air cools down the hot incoming air and reduces the size of compressor required. At the same time the increase in the temperature of outgoing air prevents re-condensation.

Most manufacturers produce "cycling dryers". These store a cold mass that cools the air when the compressor is OFF. When the refrigeration compressor runs, the large mass takes much longer to cool, so the compressor runs longer, and stays OFF longer. These units operate at lower dew points, typically in the 35–40 °F range. When selected with the optional "cold coalescing filter", these units can deliver compressed air with lower dew points.
Commonly a coalesing prefilter is installed immediately upstream of a refrigerated dryer to remove lubricating oil and other contaminants that have the potential to foul the dryer's heat exchangers.

Deliquescent Dryer
A deliquescent dryer typically consists of a pressure vessel filled with a hygroscopic media that absorbs water vapor. The media gradually dissolves—or deliquesces—to form a solution at the base of the pressure vessel. The liquid must be regularly drained from the vessel and new media must be added. The media is usually in tablet or briquette form.
Deliquescent dryers have no moving parts and don't require electrical power for operation. Common applications therefore often involve remote, hazardous, or mobile worksites. Deliquescent dryers are used for removing water vapor from compressed air, natural gas, and waste gases such as landfill gas and digester gas.
The performance of a deliquescent dryer, as measured by outlet dew point, is highly dependent on the temperature of the air or gas being processed, with cooler temperatures resulting in better performance.

Desiccant Dryer
The term Desiccant Dryers refers to a broad class of dryers. Other terms commonly used are regenerative dryer and twin tower dryer, and to a lesser extent Absorption Dryers.
The compressed air is passed through a pressure vessel filled with an absorbent media such as activated alumina, silica gel, molecular sieve or other desiccant material. The desiccant can bring the dew point of the water vapor in the air down to −40 °C (−40 °F) or below. This means that the air will not condense (deposition) water until it is cooled to −40 °C (−40 °F). In practice, two cylinders with desiccant are used; one is drying the air, while the other vessel is being regenerated. The switching of the vessels and the regeneration sequence is typically done automatically via solenoid operated valves. The regeneration of the desiccant vessel can be during three different methods:

* Heatless "pressure-swing" drying, which uses part of the dry compressed air coming from the other vessel to dry the desiccant in the vessel being regenerated at lower pressure.
* Heated dryer, which uses a hot air blower, so there is no loss of compressed air.
* Heat of compression, which can only be used with an oil free compressor.

Membrane Dryer
Membrane dryer refers to a dehumidification membrane that removes water vapor from compressed air.
Typically, the compressed air is first filtered with a high-quality Coalescing Filter. This filter removes liquid water, oil and particulate from the compressed air. The water vapor–laden air then passes through the center bore of hollow fibers in the membrane bundle. At the same time, a small portion of the dry air product is redirected along the outside surface of the fibers to sweep out the water vapor which has permeated the membrane. The moisture-laden sweep gas is then vented to the atmosphere, and clean, dry air is supplied to the application. The membrane air dryers are designed to operate continuously, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Membrane air dryers are quiet, reliable and require no electricity to operate.
Some dryers are non-porous, which means they only permeate water vapor. Non-porous membranes' drying power is only a function of flow rate, pressure. The sweep flow is strictly controlled by an orifice and is not a function of temperature.
Porous membranes are modified nitrogen membranes and pass air as well, usually changing the composition of the compressed air by reducing the oxygen content. The only maintenance required is changing the prefilter cartridge twice a year. The performance of porous membranes are dependent on temperature as well as operating pressure and flow.
Membrane air dryers depress the incoming dew point. Most dryers have a challenge air dew point and pressure specification. So if the inlet dew point is lower than the specified challenge air then the outlet dew point is even lower than specified. For example, a dryer could be rated at a −40 °F dew point with a challenge of +70 °F dew point and 100 psig. If the incoming air has an inlet dew point of only 32 °F, the outlet dew point will be somewhat less. Pressure also plays a role. If the pressure is higher than the rated specification then the outlet dew point will be lowered. This lowering of the outlet dew point is due to the longer residence time that the air has inside the membrane. Using the spec above, an operating pressure of 120 psig will yield a lower outlet dew point than specified. The extent of the improvement is dependent on the nature of the membrane and could vary among manufacturers.
Dew point suppression is not a feature of refrigerated dryers, as they chill the incoming air to a fixed temperature, usually 35 °F. So a lower dew point challenge will not yield a dew point lower than 35 °F.
Membrane air dryers are used in pneumatic components, spray painting, laser plenum purge, air bearings, air spindles, medical equipment, air guns and pneumatic brakes for vehicles and trains.

Usages
* Drying air for use in commercial or industrial processes that demand dry air
:*Telecomm industry (pressurizes its underground cables to repel moisture and avoid shorts
:* Paintin
:* Pneumatic control systems
Refrigerated dryer
Refrigeration dryers employ two heat exchangers, one for air-to-air and one for air-to-refrigeration. However, there is also a single TRISAB heat exchanger that combines both functions. The compressors used in this type of dryer are usually of the hermetic type and the most common gas used is R-134a. The goal of having two heat exchangers is that the cold outgoing air cools down the hot incoming air and reduces the size of compressor required.

The Belt Dryers are an apparatus which is used for continuous drying and cooling of pellets, pastes, moulded compounds and panels using air, inert gas, or flue gas.

Working principle
A Belt dryer / Belt cooler is a device designed for the particularly gentle thermal treatment of product.
The wet product is continuously and evenly applied through an infeed chamber onto a perforated belt. The belt, predominantly in horizontal position, carries the product through the drying area which is divided into several sections. In these cells drying gas flows through or over the wet product and dries it. Each cell can be equipped with a ventilating fan and a heat exchanger. This modular design allows the drying and cooling temperatures to be controlled separately in the different sections. Thus, each dryer cell can be individually controlled and the drying / cooling air flow can be varied in each cell. In addition, the speed of the conveyor belt can be varied what gives an additional parameter for setting of drying time.
The cells can be heated or cooled directly or indirectly, and all heating media, such as oil, steam, hot water or hot gas can be used.

Design features
Belt dryers / Belt Coolers are designed in modular system. Each belt dryer consists of infeed head, conveyor belt and discharge end.
Different kinds of dryers are possible to construct, e.g.
* Single-belt dryer
* Multi Stage Dryers
* Multi-level dryer
* Multi-belt dryer

Ventilation options
In general there are two ways of gas flow pattern. The drying air can flow, according to the treatment process, either through or over the product.

Exemplary conveyor options
* Chain-guided wire mesh conveyor
* Chain-guided hinge slat conveyor
* Chain-guided steel plate conveyor
* Chainless wire mesh conveyor

Feeding variations
* Granulating mill – filter cake or amorphous and paste-like products respectively
* Slewing belt conveyor – sensitive and free flowing products
* Distribution spiral
* Rotatable arm feeding device – stable products
* Plates feeding

Typical applications
Belt dryers are predominantly used in the following industries:
* Chemical Industry
* Pharmaceutical industry
* Food and feeding-stuff industry
* Non-metallic minerals industry
* Plastics industry
* Wood industry

Air Dryer is a device for removing water vapor from compressed air. Compressed Air Dryers are commonly found in a wide range of industrial and commercial facilities.

* Refrigerated Dryers
* Deliquescent Dryers
* Membrane Dryers

Water vapor is removed from compressed air to prevent condensation from occurring and to prevent moisture from interfering in sensitive industrial processes.

Characteristics
* A regenerative desiccant dryer typically delivers a dew point of between −40 °F(−40 °C) and −100 °F (−73 °C)
* A refrigerated dryer delivers a dew point not lower than approximately 35 °F (2 °C)
* A deliquescent dryer delivers a dew point suppression that fluctuates with air temperature. Typically this suppression is 20 °F below the compressed air temperature.

Some manufacturers are marketing compressors with built-in refrigeration dryers, but these have had a mixed acceptance in the market.

Membrane Dryers refer to a dehumidification membrane that removes water vapor from compressed air.

Continuous Tray Dryers provide better efficiency than simple Batch Dryers. It features a cycling mechanism for each tray. This mechanism continuously moves trays through the dryer, and allows the removal and addition of trays without stopping the blowers. It has the ability to avoid over heating while removing trays. This design allows the drying of more trays per hour.

Working Principle
The working principle of Continuous Tray Dryers is a mixed system of Tray Dryers and Conveyor Dryers. The system has continuous trolleys. Products can be dried by using different air sections (bottom - top - right - left). Each trolleys stay at all of air sections by using continuous trolley system.

Drying Parts
Machine has 4 parts for drying
* Left drying parts
* Right drying parts
* Bottom drying parts
* Upper drying parts
The Trolley stay all of these parts at drying operation. this is useful for uniform drying.

Pneumatic Dryers are one of the most widely used Dryers in recent times. It is also known as Flash Dryers.

The large surface area for heat and mass transfer and the high convective heat and mass transfer coefficients, which take place at these units, result in high drying rates and as a result, high drying capacity. The size of particulates to be dried is usually in the range of 10–500 mm. One of the features of these types of dryers is the relatively short contact time between the hot air and the particulate materials (0.5–60 s) at the drying section. Because of this the material temperature stays always low in the drying process.

The simple flash drying system includes seven basic components: the heater, the wet material feeder, the dryer and crusher, the cyclone, the jet filter and a exhaust fan.

Components
* Screw: Diameter is determined by capacity. Spiral stainless steel drying of food products.
* Feeder Motor: Specially selected by the size of the machine.
* Speed Control Device: To control the feeding capacity by using control board.
* Function: The product mixing and more rapid drying process was made by crushers. Crushers and crushing on the mixing blades are specially designed product.
* Mixing Blades: carbon steel sheet laser will be produced as predicted. Food products can be manufactured in stainless steel material.
* Shaft: I can be can be made for the stainless steel material for food products.
* Rotary Motor: specially selected by the size of the machine.
* Extras: The Crusher adjustment system will be balanced.
* Burner: Needed Energy of the drying is prepared at the burner unit.
* Function: Cyclone is used to separated product from air.
* Air lock engine: Engine power and speed are selected according to the product.
* Bag filter: Bag filter is used to seperate fine powder from air. usualy below the th product size of 200 micron.
* Control Panel: It is used to control all of system.

Application
It is used to get needed air for drying operation. Air pressure and flow are chosen according to dried product, inlet moisture, outlet moisture and etc.

The After Cooling Dryers is designed to cool down compressed air to assist with the removal of condensate.
Aftercoolers typically remove about 70% of the water vapour from compressed air, if they are correctly sized to do the job. Aftercoolers can be air or water cooled. Aftercoolers can only cool the compressed air to within a few degrees of the cooling medium (air or water). To size an aftercooler properly a number of considerations and readings must be taken from the proposed site.

Definition
The After Cooling Dryers are the cheapest form of removal of condensate (water vapour that has condensed back to water) from compressed air. Aftercoolers are not normally needed on new compressors as most new machines are fitted with them as standard. However, some are undersized for Australian conditions and in certain circumstances you may need an additional aftercooler in your compressed air system.
Aftercoolers operate similar to a radiator in your car. The name suggests exactly what an Aftercooler does. An Aftercooler cools compressed air and condenses the vapour back to water. It is then removed by a condensate separator after the air has been compressed. Once it has been separated, the condensate is delivered to an oil/water separator for safe disposal. Delivering cool, dry air to your factory is required so that you do not wreck equipment or the products you are working on or manufacturing.
Water vapour that is in the air gets heated up and turned to steam whilst it is being compressed. As soon as it touches your cold pipework it condenses back into liquid water. An aftercooler makes the cooling happen in a predetermined place, making the separation and removal of water easy.
Their limit is the ambient temperature, as this is the cooling medium or "energy" that is cooling the air. A refrigerated or dessicant dryer may also be necessary if an aftercooler does not produce dry enough air.

Advantages
* Reduces moisture build up in air lines
* Reduces rust inside the air lines
* Reduces rust inside the air tools
* Reduces likelihood of water getting into products

Applications
* It is like a radiator in your car. A fan blows air across the core of the aftercooler which dissipates heat out of the compressed air. The air is then channeled through a condensate separator that spins out a large portion of the condensate contained in the compressed air.
* It can be air or water cooled.
* It can be supplied as an aftermarket accessory for your existing compressor set - (most new Indented line compressors already have an aftercooler supplied as standard).
* It can be matched up to suit your reciprocating or rotary vane compressor because those compressors were often originally sold without an aftercooler.
* These are the first stage in removal of condensate from compressed air.

* Used in specialized manufacturing processes that need exceptionally dry air. eg. :Pharmaceuticals, electronics, lab equipment, auto refinishing.
* Have two parallel towers filled with beads of activated alumina. Compressed air flows upwards :within one tower of the Adsorption or Desiccant Air Dryer while the second tower is regenerated with a small stream of the dried air (over a 5 - 10 minute period). The activated alumina is a hygroscopic, hard, durable desiccant material that should last for approx 5 years if adequately protected from contamination by compressor oil.
* Can be setup with a constant pressure dew point of -40°C to -70°C dew point.

* Single-belt dryer
* Multi Stage Dryers
* Multi-level dryer
* Multi-belt dryer

Ventilation options
In general there are two ways of gas flow pattern. The drying air can flow, according to the treatment process, either through or over the product.

Exemplary conveyor options
* Chain-guided wire mesh conveyor
* Chain-guided hinge slat conveyor
* Chain-guided steel plate conveyor
* Chainless wire mesh conveyor

Feeding variations
* Granulating mill – filter cake or amorphous and paste-like products respectively
* Slewing belt conveyor – sensitive and free flowing products
* Distribution spiral
* Rotatable arm feeding device – stable products
* Plates feeding

Typical applications
Belt dryers are predominantly used in the following industries:
* Chemical Industry
* Pharmaceutical industry
* Food and feeding-stuff industry
* Non-metallic minerals industry
* Plastics industry
* Wood industry
