'''Band heaters''' provide countless solutions for cylindrical surface heating applications. For other cylindrical or non-cylindrical surfaces we recommend cartridge-, circulation-, immersion-, strip-, tubular- or flexible heaters.
==Types==
'''Mica Band Heaters'''
This thin profile construction allows high watt densities up to 55 watts per square inch and quick heat transfer from the element to the sheath for efficient operation up to 800 degF sheath temperature. A stainless steel sheath encases a compressed mineral refractory which surrounds a helical or sinuated resistance element.

'''Ceramic Band Heaters'''

This heaters are used for plastic molding, extrusion and molding presses or any application where there is a need to apply heat to a cylindrical surface. They are very energy efficicient since they have a standard 1/4in thick insulation. A 1/2in thick insulation is optional. Up to 18in diameter it can be a 1 piece construction, greater than that we recommand a 2-piece construction. Ceramic Band heaters can be manufactured in widths much greater than what is practical in Mica Band heaters, eliminating heat losses between gaps in narrow band heaters and simplyfying installation.

==Applications==

These heaters are used for plastic molding, extrusion and molding presses, pipe heating, heat treating and autoclaves, food industry and many more.
